Thanks TW, like I said not an exact copy from the book but I used what I had to get the same general design.

Well I liked that holster so much I've had to make myself one too. Still W&C black skirting leather but I made my belt a little wider with some spots and I lined my holster with pig skin. Wanted to make mine a little different since I didn't want to make another exactly like someones custom order.

This is supposed to be a fancier sort of holster from around 1900 - maybe a showman's ...

Maybe these are sharper - my camera's not too good...

Just finished this rig for an old friend of mine, inspired by the rig in Packing Iron page 101.

Cliff Fendley

Wow Doc, that looks just like it came out of packing iron.

Skeeter, that is MARVELOUS tooling and stitching. Do you use a double beader blade to do the double line borders. If so do you use an edge guide. This is one area that I struggle with and I know it should be simple. I'm curious how others do that.

Doc - nice work. Nice pouch too.

Cliff - thanks. No, I don't use the double beader tool. That is a little bugger. I dampen the leather and score the lines with dividers. Then I strengthen those lines with a swivel knife (lightly applied) and finish off with a freehand creaser. I take my time to avoid bloopers.

Marshal Will Wingam

Beautiful, Skeet. The workmanship is top notch. Looks really representative of the era.  :D Nice work on the bead. Thanks for the tip on how you did it.

Doc, that's a fine rig. I like the Dodge City design. Those are well done and could hang right next to the original in the Gene Autry Museum.  8)
