Howdy pards..
I´ve just finiched up a 1881 holster. I made the pattern from The pattern in Packing Iron page 27, Its not exact will remake it
a little. Its made for Colt SAA or a schofield, if I make it a little longer it will fit the Navy, Army and Remington to..
I wonder if they were made with some protection from the copper rivets so the stays away from the revolver? I have a peice of leather
behind the flap button as protection...
Please tell me if its something I will do better or think of when I makes them

Think I will do that KT. I dont think the boys wearing those in 1881 cared, it wasént there guns  ;)

I have a set of Bob Douglas's tools for setting rivets. With those you can make a dome shape on the rivet head and at the same time counter-sink it. That keeps it clear of the gun metal.
