Yahoo.com had ust at 54/39 ...partly cloudy ... but every thing is still wet ... I guess I should not complain ... no glare ice ...

And if you are a Parrothead, Jimmy has a very good online station at:

radiomargaritaville.com

I often listen to it while I am checkin mail ....

But the song the lyrics came from was a son called 'Boat Drinks':

WWE come to MN. We have had 3 days of rain and now its in the teens and glare ice. You'll be glad to get back home. KT ;D ;)

I left northern Utah in the summer of '65 because of that kind of weather.  Ain't ever going back in any month that doesn't begin with June, July, or August..... and I'm getting back down here as soon as possible

Thanks KT!  Was in Georgia - at the cat house [cat concierge for 10 cats - 4 inside and 6 outside] for the 1st week and then visiting with my friends for the rest.  15 min. to the beach.  Worked on my tan a lot!  Life is wonderful!!  ;D

Today we have a nice layer of sheet ice on everything due to freezing drizzle overnight. Its currently 28 with a high of 41 and a low of 16 tonite.
And sadly, I kind of like it, except for the ice part...

I think hot weather stinks and fall/winter is the best part of the year. That might be a hunter's biased opinion though...

Got 2" of snow this AM. Supposed to get down to 16 degrees tonight. Think summer's gone. Better than the normal Oregon rain.

Cold weather has two advantages:

1. You can usually put on enough clothing to stay warm, but in hot country you often can't take off enough to get cool...and you may be subject to arrest or ridicule if you try.

2. Street crime should be lower because less people will be out and around and most muggers won't stand around in the cold waiting for a mark to come by.

Dalton, did you get any snow yet? We got 14 inchs 2 weeks ago. KT

Cliff Fendley

Sure is crazy here in Kentucky but then temperature jumps are fairly common here. That and the limestone water is what makes the bourbon ;D.

I deer hunted with just a T shirt on this evening. Rain and thunderstorms tonight and in the morning they are saying. Hot dry summer finally cooled off to about normal a couple weeks ago and now back up in the upper 60's. Supposed to cool back off for the weekend though, highs in the 30's on Friday I saw.

KT, we are snow free so far this year. There has been a little up North of us, but here on the Platte, its been snow free.
Last year, we probably had that much by now. I know the GAF Muster in Ord was interesting, with the 6-8" of wet snow. And that was in early October...

Happy Thanksgiving, pards.

It's been nuts around here. Two computers tanking regularly. Trying to keep them going until the new ones arrive and get configured. One new one, (my wife's) is just about ready. The other one will be here early next week. That one will go easier since I'll just do the same to it as the first. I finally decided to try a Mac instead of a PC. Hopefully, there won't be any more virus issues.

I see a lot of good work and new posts happening. It'll take me a while to catch up.

Hope you all have a great holiday.

I too have an old computer that I have managed to patch together and make do with.

Although I look forward to the added speed and utilitiy, I really dread the transfer of all my files from the old computer to the new ...

And, since this has nothing to do with leather work, should any one have ideas on how to do this easily, well my email address is on my proifle ....

Good luck WIll. I am using a new PC myself. My wife has a Mac, and its pretty carefree it seems.

I have found the best way to transfer everything, is to use a external hard drive, like a "my book". I got mine at Walmart for 75.00 or so. Its great for backup, transferring, music, etc. Just drag and drop like its another hard drive. I did NOT use the supplied programming on it though.

Dalton,

You afford me an excellent example ... in order to keep from clogging up this topic with non leather working things I went to put your profile, went to send you an email, and got a new pop up page for the 'ALL NEW YAHOO MESSENGER'... that if I couls just fill out these forms, it promises me unlimited access for instant messageing (which I don't do) and all sorts of other things (which also have no interest to me)...

I was given a choice of either clicking 'OK' to continue cancel to stop (but this would discontinuee any ability to instant message) ...
I could also click on the 'X' at the top right, but that twould only add a over box asking me if I 'really wanted' to move away from this webite and throw away instant messaging).

So I appologise to all for this post, and most of all to you Dalton, fir I don't think I dare ever to email you until I have better and stronger software .....

Wife and I got matching iMacs last year.  Hers worked like a dream, but I had all sorts of problems with mine...until an independent contractor with a maintenance agreement wit Apple discovered a faulty hard drive. he replaced it at no cost to me, added 2gigs of something, and transferred all of my files .  Total cost to me was $197.75.  No problems since then.

There is a learning curve, but it's doable.  I'd do it agin.

BTW, the guy asked if I were computer literate.  I told him I'd worked with computers of one kind or another since 1966 but still didn't like them, trust then, or understand them.

He grinned and said,"so I'll put you down as 'computer indifferent".  I can live with that.  If it works and doesn't cause problems I don't need to know how it works.

This new one seems to be running fine. I'll remember the warranty, though. OK, I'll be caught up on things soon.

Nice sheath, Kt. Looks really good with the inlay being similar in color. Thumbs-up. The JS holsters look good with that belt. Another thumbs-up.

Django, that finished rig is beautiful. Very nice work.

I had a three years extended warranty.  Don't usually get those but my daughter (a dyed in the wool Apple freak) bought it for me.  Glad she did.
