Yes,...I think it was out of either Packing Iron or The Peacemakers....

I did take a bit of a liberty by adding the 12 Shotgun loops to mine,...

Dogone nice work pards, all the way around. I've been working on a Wild Bunch rig: belt, holster, and 2 mag holders. It's complete, but parts are still drying from the last Neatsfoot application.

I plan on using it tomorrow, so I'll try to get some pictures posted today

Great shooting Marshal

Ned, that is a terrific job on that model, very clean and the lettering is perfect. Until someone has tried it you don't realize how hard that is to do on a small scale like that. I used to love to build them when I was a kid. Now that my boy is getting old enough I was just looking at some models at the hobby store recently.

Just remembered I hadn't posted the pic of my new F. A. Meanea holster and money belt. I made this one for myself to use in NCOWS. Hurried to get it finished and the shoot got rained out last weekend ???

It's not a copy but the rig is patterned after the work of F. A. Meanea. His work of the 1880's and 90's is probably my favorite style of holster.

Basically patterned after the rig on the cover of "Packing Iron" except I stitched the belt instead of lace and rather than carved I border stamped the holster typical to Meanea's style. I had to make one of the stamps and just used others that were close for the rest. I'm still making and/or trying to find old 19th century style stamps in order to make the rigs as authentic looking as possible.

I did weave the loops instead of stitched even thought Meanea almost if not always stitched them. It was a little quicker and since I was going to use it I actually prefer the woven loops because they are easier to get the cartridges in and outl.

It is saddle stitched with Barbour's linen thread, it has the toe plug, partial welt, etc. the way a Cheyenne holster should be in my opinion. ;D

I stained it with home made walnut husk stain, topped off with some Neatsfoot.

Thanks Cliff, it's a fun way to while away hours on end. I needed to buy some paint for it, first time I looked at model prices in nearly 20 years, no longer an inexpensive hobby!

Howdy KT,
Outstanding as usual! Always nice to see these works of art from your workshop.

Howdy Sarge,
That is some great work you have posted. Looks like genuine U.S.Army issue to me.

Howdy Cliff,
Beautiful looking rig! Isn't that Walnut dye great stuff to work with!

Many thanks to you Gents for sharing your work with us.

Thanks Pards. I can't take credit for the photo. A friend of mine and fellow knifemaker Mike Carter who happens to be a professional photographer took it.
