What A Great Day!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Pards,
What a great day I had

WC, got here about 9:30 this morning and man did we have a great time talking shop!!!

Then he got down to buiness

He carved a AWESOME Floral Design on a spur strap, telling me every step and showing and telling me what tools and why!! It realy is AWESOME to watch someone that knows what there doing carving. He took a spur strap that was supplied to me for this very day, (Thanks Slowhand Bob) WC free hand drew up the design

Holy Cow

then he took his swivel knife and did his thing!!! :)He made it look so easy, and he showed me some of his tricks

and in no time he was done!!
Then he gave me some more tips on carving that make things easier!! And also he show me how the Deco cuts realy make the carving look a live

Then it was on to the next lesson!! I havn't done much basket weaving, but after the tips that WC gave me, I plan on doing a lot more of it!!!!
It truely was a GREAT DAY

WC is a SUPER PARD!!!!!!! And I hated to see him leave, but he has a long way to go and a lot of people to see!!!
I did get to see a lot of AWESOME Stuff he has carved that he had with him

Everyone a Master Peice !!!!!!
I pray that he has a safe trip! It was a very big HONOR of me to get a hands on lesson from a True Artist In Carving Leather!!
Just wanted to share my happyness with you all.

Howdy Ace, sounds like you two had a great time, I knew you would, now you have a better than average idea of how to do it, WC is a great teacher, I know you learned a lot in a short time, now We will look forward to seeing what you do with this, I bet you already know what you're going to make next.

Glad to hear it was such a good visit, Ace. Some pards really do go out of their way to do something for others. WC is certainly one of them. Now, we get to see some more stuff from you. WC's influence will be with you for the rest of your life. So cool.

It realy makes a lot of differnce to see someone do something in person!! I had a real nice time, I do wish I would of felt better, but I didn't let me feeling bad get in the way. WC, is a very Talented Leather Smith, and it was a real pleasure to have spent the day with him. My Plans are to do a lot of practice, I plan on slowing down and working harder on improvement!

Ace, I couldn't be happier for you pard. I just might need to come see you now so that you can pass that info on to me now. I spent a very rainy day in town and at the movies with the wife. After seeing my new bugger, she says I need to give the fingers a chance to heal by staying out of the shop!

All of you are welcome at my place, just give me a call and let me know!! My Son is flying in this Sat. so from this Sat. till the next Sat. I am pretty tied up!! But any other time is GREAT

It was my pleasure. I had a great time talking with you and carving. That freehand pattern was terrible.
Just remember the 3 P's PRACTICE, ........... You will be suprised how fast you will improve.

Ace, I can honestly say I know how you feel. I was more excited about visitng WC's shop, and getting to meet him, 10 Wolves and Sandi than I was shooting at Piru. I just wish I'd had more time there. If I hadn't had a friend with me, and had managed to get the rental car straightened out sooner I would have been able to spend more time there. As it was, it was great. The man is a Master with the swivel knife, no doubt.

I'm sure glad you got the chance you did, and God bless WC for being such a willing guy to help people
