JD,

yep the tuturial is a good writeup. i downloaded it as well.
But for me it is way easier to learn by watching vs reading a pattern.
therefore i have both of chucks videos.
they show a wealth of information that you wont find on his tuturial.

the video also shows how to do a inlay in a knife sheath.
also shows how to carve and color the sheath.

well worth adding to your collection.
can never have too much information on the hobby that you love doing

Howdy JD,

That is a beautiful Knife! It looks like a museum piece. I'll bet you can't wait to make a sheath for it.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

I agree Kuncklehead, seeing it is much better than reading about it. I guess I'll have to get that DVD, thanks

Rick, the nice thing about lacing an edge is if you mess up just undo it and try again. Tends to be very forgiving.

I will be making a sheath as soon as possible. I cut out and stamped the belt for the holsters I made, dyed it, and just gave it the first coat of EVOO. I probably would have used Neatsfoot, but I've run out.

In two days I head to Chan Geer's class, and will spend four days learning basket stamping, buck stitching, Sheridan carving and some of this finishing techniques. I'm looking forward to it!

Everyone I've shown the knife to is blown away by it. It's really cool to say I had it custom made by Ned Buckshot.

To make it CLEAR, I'm hanging on to it  ;D
