Good work, C3. That buckle really accents the nice tooling on the belt.

Cowboy316, you have found my other Achilles heel pard!  I have been working on leather off and on since the early sixties  and can not today or forever more duplicate the artistic ability shown by so many of you guys on here, I lack the eye of the artist and the patience required to create.  Do not misunderstand, though I can not envision artistic design, I can recognize it and you are definitely showing it.

The whole thing looks sharp, but I'm really inpressed by the lacing. After seeing Kid Terico's stuff, and now yours, I've got to give lacing a try. I have no idea what to do, but I've got a couple of books on it, so I'll try to figure out something. What are you using to punch the holes for the lace?

Nice work brother, JD

JD, lacing is fun, and I learned it all from the book, once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty easy, and it does give you a nice effect, I would use it more on some of my holsters, but they didn't start using lace until the early 1900's, and then by mostly  Mexican craftsman, but it's fun to do , and looks great on key fobs/book covers or anything where anything where being period correct doesn't matter, I like to use lacing chisels in sizes 3/32" and 1/8" , and Two Prong lacing needles, also a Perma -Loc neddle, the lacing comes in other sizes, but I usually stay with these two, I like to make a stitching line just like you would for doing your sewing, but I then use the chisels instead, they come in a pack, I think of three or four, and you can also get the angled ones too.

Give it a try, I know you will enjoy it, and it looks great  ::)
