Howdy Pards,  Well I finialy got my picture taken:

So I want to give credit to those who have added to it.
First, I have to thank my wife for taking the pic. Then I have to thank the guy that threw away the cowboy hat that I dug out of the trash and cut it down and made a flat top. Then I need to thank a friend of mine that bought me those boots in Mexico 20 years ago.
I need to thank Johnny McCraey for the grips I have on my guns. I need to thank TW for pushing me to keep going, checking on me ever day to just let me know that people cared!
And last but not Least: I want to thank every member on here that has helped me in so many ways, I would ask a question and I would get a answer. What a great bunch of Pards!!

Thanks so much!

Ace,

I really, really llike your new Avatar ... the old one was of a man who had a slow fatal disease and was resigned to it.

In the new Avatar, you show yourself as alive, alert, still curious about life and ready to do what needs to be done...

1000% improvement!
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Thanks Pards! :)
Just wished I could give myself a shot in the back on a shoot day, so I could go shoot! Thing about leather work is that it is very rewarding!! Nothing like taking a plain peice of leather and turning it into something useable and to be pround that you did it your self! TW, you know I wouldn't of made it with out you! I make that statement not to take anything way from the rest of you Pards! All of you have help me so much, but I have a long way to go!!
The wife realy makes fun of my hat ::) ::) I told her, when she had a couple extra hundred she could order me the real deal  ;D ;D
I don't think that is going to happen ??? ???

Later Pards

Ace, if you can, how about a close up shot of that hat. From the picture you have posted, it looks good. Anyone who can modify a hat, then still be able to wear it has some pretty good skills. I could modify a hat, but no one would want to wear it afterwards  :-\

Ace, you're lookin' good.  (Don't let that go to your head.  I didn't say you were good lookin'.   ;D )  Very proper for the time and place we all wish were still around.

Glad to see a real face to go with the name.

JD, That hat was UGLY, the guy that was throwing it away bought that hat in the 50's, It was so Ugly I had to keep it in a paper sack! It had to be cheap, the sides were sewn to a strip that ran down the middle!! There wasn't any way to shape the top so it couls be worn, so I marked up from the brim 4" all the way around and cut it off! Then I made a pattern of the circle, and cut out a peice of heavy felt 1/2" bigger all the way around and gluded a 1/4" fold over and sewed it!

Bodie, No I am going to keep my same name. You would think since I live about 35 miles from where Wyatt Earp was a US Marshall in the first Cow Town in Kansas that I would of made some handle around him, but I allways took a Fancy to Doc!!

So it allways will be
