Things get weird sometimes

Howdy Doody

Well, it is weird today and that is for sure. Here is why. I changed my browser to Foxfire, basically a Internet Explorer type. I was going to change my profile a bit and couldn't remember the password or login name. I had started some years ago on CAS City as Howdy Doody, forgot how to log in and just changed the alias and reregistered to what it is today. My old browser Netscape remembers logins and so I went to that and logged into the profile section. I couldn't tell what the password was because it was just stars.  No problem. I added a new picture and some recent news and it all looked good. I then got out of Netscape and back to my Firefox and nothing changed at all. I went back to Netscape and my new changes were there. Go figure. How can one browser read something on a website that another one can't. I am thoughroly, thourily, oh heck, totally confused. I guess I better send for password reminder to profile section so I can do it with this browser. This is a lot like reading a map. I don't do that either, I just drive around in circles and hope to find a place before I run out of gas  ;D

I like the new pic, Howdy. Was the horse cooperative?........Buck 8) ::) :-\ ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

I use FireFox exclusively, 'cuz I don't like Internet Explorer.

Goto http://www.cascity.com/posse/cgi/login.cgi and enter your email address under " Lost your password?". It will be emailed to you. You may want to clear Firefox's cache, also.

Hope this helps.

Howdy Buck,
The horse was funny. You can't tell, but it has the same silly grin as I do. The horse was a prop of sorts. I shot the Plainfield Raid here a few weeks ago and the professional photographer was taking pictures of folks with the horse as they finished a stage. It was a funny picture and I bought it from them. I figured it looked pretty durn cowboy and that is why I am using it. I have yet to try mounted shooting. Quite a number of years ago Rocky Meadows offered to let me try it with her club when she was riding, and  before her accident, but I never did. I am still game though. I should be able to miss a balloon as easy as I can miss steel.  ;D

Actually my wife needs Firefox for a browser for her work. I still use Netscape, but i have to bring it up to do that since she has Firefox as the default. Thanks again pard.

Slim, I got it and I made the changes again to the profile. Then I decided to put the button on the bottom in my signature and just spent 15 minutes trying to figure what went wrong there. Seems that I failed to put the space bar _ thing between names. It seems to be working now though, and I sure do appreciate the help. Can you help me at all with my shooting speed? Just funnin' no one can help me there and Lord knows some have tried  :D

Howdy Doodyville Dude......
I have been usin FireFox for almost a year and I realy like it  ;D I had ta do some reconfigurin and a couple a few commands were different but it like it better. Next you should try IncrediMail.........it's better (and more fun) then OutLook Express.

Good shootin......

Howdy Doody

Howdy Drifter, yup I have had incredimail for a couple years now at least but just the free version. I like it a lot too.
Slims tip about emptying the cashe on Firefox was what was holding me off. Firefox has a cashe and everytime I went to the profile all I saw was the old profile. Once I cleared the cashe by going to the tool button, Firefox read the newest version of my profile.
Yup, I wish I knew more about the workings on computers, but I try to catch up as much as possible. I rely on whippersnappers like SCS to keep me up and running.  ;D
BTW Vern, I was hoping you might have made the Trail Town shoot. That was my first shoot at Norco and I met a bunch of wire/TFS/Cas City pards that I had never face to faced before. ONly two could I not mistake. Irish Red O'Toole and Modern Day Cowboy. I would have known them anywhere. Surprise folks I met were pards like Zzzyzx, Chuckwagon, B.T. Blade, Aesop Mysleeve, and a bunch more. Sooner or later we will meet up. Someone already told me what you look like. They said look for a fuzzy bearded codger  ;D

I will make more SoCal shoots now and I hope to try out W3G too. We will catch up pard. Let's see look for a squirrel under a hat  ;D ;D ;D

Well Doodyville Dude, if'n it'll make ya feel sum  better, I canst figure out how to set Foxfire as my default.  I have to startup the IE then make the jump over to Foxfire.

I'd me most greatful to those Pards that can help me out with this puzzle.  ???

Startup Firefox, goto the "Tools" Menu, click on "Options...", click on "General", click "Check Now" under "Default Browser". I think it will then ask you if you want Firefox to be your default browser.
Hope this helps.
