I have been doing some research and haven't been able to find any information on a model 1858 with a 5 1/2 inch barrel..Does anybody have any historical information about this model?

Let's modify the question - does anybody have information on the likelihood that somebody would have shortend the barrel on a model 1858?  I'm guessing it would be more likely in a cartridge conversion.
