He's don't come in in the mornin' cause he knows this crowd that has wandered over uses quick grit's, tube biscuits and instant coffee, plus powdered eggs.  Heck might as well go get breakfast from a speaker as to eat at that fire,  most likey usin' store bought paper fireplace logs anyway.

He does laugh at Four Eyed Buck's Bang's joke and is surprised that in a cow state Slim don't get it. 

Delmonico decides there ain't no cowboys here if they didn't get Buck's joke and heads to the coffee pot with his red and white enamal cup in hand.

Posh!  I wasn't gonna laugh at Buck's joke because Lou is a nice lady and the only BANGS she makes are out of the muzzles of her firearms!

Tensleep slaps Del's hand and knocks his cup to the ground. "Git back from thet coffee pot! I ain't never used instant coffee, tube biscuits er none o' thet other fake food... Jist cuz I don't use rusty cast iron all tha time like you doan mean I can't rustle grub."

Delmonico comes down and checks back in to see how the trouble he started turned out.

He's feelin' onery cause he didn't have to do all the nasty tests at the doctor today cause the doctor decided Delmonico is right.   He is just 'lergic to penny-cill-ion molds so he didn't get dozens of little holes poked in him.

And Delmonico cooked tube biscuits in his dutch oven once, but his mother told him to do it.

And I like my grits with butter and sugar, but they are too much like other cooked cereals to get him excited, cause he don't eat cooked cereals, Jello or poached eggs, cause thats sick people food.   Delmonico once told a nurse's aid that suggested the Jello stay on the tray, "Just in case you decide you want it" that he wouud throw it at the ugly picture on the wall, cube by rubbery cube.
