I know I can get one brand new in box for $549, but would like to save some money and get one that has been used, or even has some carry wear.  In my neck of the woods just using the gun, this knocks a good $75 off the price, and wear will knock more off.  Let me know if you guys have seen any anywhere.  Also, if you know of any regular USFA SAA's with a little carry wear, let me know.

I can't help you, but I'm curious about where you can get a new Rodeo for $549?  I haven't seen them that cheap in a long time, and I have some good sources.  By the way--most USFA's keep pretty good resale value.

J.D.,
I was in a shop in Bothell, WA (just north of Seattle) today and they had a new Rodeo I, 4 & 3/4", .45 for $539.00.

That's $100 cheaper than I see them around here.  For some reason, it seems like all the CAS guns are expensive in this neck o' the woods...  Then again, when we lived in Phoenix, there's a well-known cowboy gun shop that specializes in Colt and has terrible prices.

JD,
I assume that you are referring to Legendary Guns.  I have a friend who lives in Phoenix and I stop in there whenever I visit.  Prices are a bit stiff there but it is a fun place to "window shop."

Guess I wasn't being subtle enough, Capt.   8)  Yeah, they have a great selection.  I useta drool over their Colts.  But I had a bad experience there--bought a holster once, and it wasn't a great fit fer my gun so I brought it back the next day. It had a couple of scratches on the inside before I bought it, from people trying it out with pistols at the shop (which is what I shoulda done).  Anyway, they gave me a ton of grief, claimed I'd ruined it.  They grudgingly took it back in trade but after that, whenever I came back fer other shopping, they still gave me sh...crap about it. It was a $60 holster. And I had already bought a Marlin '94 Cowboy, two custom Heritage Rodeos (consec. ser. no.'s, Tru Ivory grips, and a big price tag), and bunches of other expensive stuff.  Their petty bs attitude led me to swear I'd never buy anything from them again.

My source is out here in Colorado--Rodeo's for $549, Rodeo II's for $599.  I think that's normal here, as I just went by another shop and found a Rodeo II for the same price.  The Rodeo's I saw had CCH hammers, too, which I lilke, but seem out of place on a matte finished gun.
