When Marlin re-introduced the model 1894 in 1984 or 1988?....did they all have the crossbolt safety or was it added later?  If it was added late is there a serial number or year of production to look for on the ones that didn't have it? Thanks.

I bought my first 1894 Marlin in 1973. It came without a cross bolt safety. Therefore all 1894's made before tht date also weere made without the cross bolt safety.

I'm not perfectly sure, but I seem to remember reading the 1894 was reintroduced, sometime in 1969...!
