S. Quentin Quale, Esq.

This year's NCC2009 will be held at Ft. Robinson, NE from 23-27 September 2009.

The competition consists of four basic events:  Military Equitation, Military Field Jumping, Mounted Pistol, and Mounted Saber.

In addition there are competitions in Authenticity, Platoon Drill, Bugler, and the Major Howze (a mobiiity test for teams of riders).

The final event is the Bolte Cup, which combines the four basic events into single event.

In addition to the competition events there's a bunch of good parties, educational opportunities, a good fellowship.  It's the only equestrian competition I know of where somebody your riding against will help you out (and real help, not "sabotage help").  It's really a great event and covers the gamut of military horsemanship from the Revolutionary War to 1948 (any military organization form any period is legal, except portrayal of Nazi Germany).  We've been joined in the past by riders from Canada, Australia, and Britain.

It's a fun event.   8)
