Does anyone have any information on Meachem Conversion Sharps Rifles?  I have seen one on the Cabela's site and was wondering what the story behind it is.  I know there was a Meachum Arms in St Louis as early as 1894 as I have an LC Smith that was shipped to them.

Thanks for any insite.

Not sure on the Sharps conversion, but there was a Meecham conversion on the 1863 Springfield in the trails that accepted the Allin conversion instead.  NSHS has one on display here in Lincoln, Was a 58 round either rimfire or CF, just can't remember right now, a round similar to the 577 Snider of the Brits.

Meacham conversions were done in house in St. Louis, MO mostly in the 1880's after Sharps closed its doors in late 1881. Other than nostalgia they are not worth much as the workmanship was sub par. Save your money.
