Howdy Folks,

The KVC bunch got permission to put on an NCOWS shoot today at the Powder Creek Cowboys range in Lenexa, KS, which is a suburb of Kansas City.  We shot 5 stages and had a great time.  It was sunny and got up to all of 72 F.  Trap wrote the stages and there were several relatively new shooters.  We had shooters in Smokeless Shootist, BP Duelist, Range Detective Women's Working Cowboy, Working Cowboy, Originals.  On my posse there were 3 shooters, RD, WC, & O shooting Henry's and OT Colts.  All with BP!! :o ;D ;D  There was one sub Junior girl at her first shoot [.22's who was a real cutie!  Blue chaps & pink cowgirl boots with little spurs.  Her mom, grandma & grandpa were all shooting! ;D

I shot two new guns today for the very first time and had a ball.  My newly converted Henry in 44 Russian and my 72 Colt Open Top in 44 Colt, but shooting 44 Russian in it too!  Somewhat of a learning experience, but I'm very happy with both of them!!

Dr. Bob...
How did that Henry work for you?

Are the Powder Creek Cowboys a SASS posse? Curious about their reaction??

My family visits the Kansas City area now and then. I found the KVC page at the NCOWS organizational site, but I haven't been able to find a KVC web site. Do they have one?

Dr. Bob,

I am writing to say how much I enjoyed the NCOWS match at Powder Creek Cowboy's CAS range Sunday.  It was gratifying to see so many making beautiful billowing clouds of white black powder smoke.  We are fortunate to have a goodly number of BP shooters at our 3x monthly SASS sanctioned shoots, but I was impressed by the number of NCOWS members making smoke at this first PCC/NCOWS event.  I hope you are successful in convincing the Executive Board of the Powder Creek Cowboys to make this a monthly event.

I am and remain your loyal and obedient servant,

Tame Bill

Dr. Bob, sounds llike a good time was had by all. I shot black powder shootist at our NCOWS match at Green River last Saturday. It was fun and with the help of some wind was able to clean three of the five stages. The other two stages , targets were hidden after the first shot. Had fun and know you did at your shoot. Hope you all can continue having those shoots. Tj

kflach,

Nope, no web site.  We are pretty web challenged as a posse.  I'd be happy to chat with you about our activities.  My phone number is 816-716-8866.  Please call between Noon and Midnight.  I live on a second shift schedule, even though I am retired. :o ;D  We generally shoot on the 1st Saturday of the month.

!st sat, hmmmmm. That's about a 4 hour drive for me, but I might try it sometime. Seems like all the shoots I know of in MO are sunday shoots, and most sundays I'm in church.

Dr. Bob,

Thanks for the number. I'll archive it for future use. I'll probably PM you here before I call so you know who it is that's calling.

....I must have missed the announcement for this match (?)
Gee, my Pa has attended a few Powder Creek Creek matches (not a member, though) & he didn't tell me about it either.

More "exploitation"....please  ;D
