barrel length

howdy pard quick question on barrle length how is it measured  ??? ??? ???

For revolvers it's measured from the very beginning of the forcing cone inside the frame where the cylinder almost touches it to the very end of the barrel.

Easiest way is to measure from the front face of the cylinder to the muzzle of the barrel.  Rifles and shotguns, from the breach face to the muzzle. (Drop a cleaning rod or dowel down the barrel 'til it "hits bottom"; mark the rod at the muzzle, remove the rod and measure the rod from the end to the mark.)
