I use it as an edge burnising compoud, for the life of me I have no idea what it really is!! ??? :o

On assembled and died pieces I use a q tip or small wool swab and put an even coat on about 6" of the edge and set it aside to dry, about 10 min.

Then another light coat and burnish with a piece of natural canvas untill nice and glossy. And then on to the next section. This is the method I've been usung for years and no complaints so far! ::)

CB316,
when i am making a holster after it is dyed, if I am not going to line it, I spray the flesh side with gt. and use a auto body bondo spreaded and spread it even, so that the flesh lays down nice! After drying then i do my treatment, and put it toghter.

Hey Cowboy,

I apply it with a disposable foam brush.  I burnish not only the edges, but the backs also.  I don't wait for it to dry before I start burnishing with a bone or horn.  Trag stabalizes the dye to some degree and makes a nice finish to the back of the piece regardless.

Antler works perfectly. Bone folders used to be made of bone once upon a time. LOL.

Cool for you, C316. I agree it's great for the backs ... belts, holsters, etc. Gives them that nice finish, and you can still get some oil through it if you need to later on.

As for spilling it on your lap, Bob, the irony is that Bois D'Arc Bascom's avatar is Smiling Bob from the Enzyte commercial. You suppose Enzyte counteracts gum tragacanth?  ;D
