I was 9 years old when Superbowl 2 was played. I didn't become a hardcore football fan until a few years later. However, I am of the opinion that A). The Cowboys are not America's team, they're our (Dallas's) team! B). Any 'superbowl' in which the Cowboys didn't play wasn't really a Superbowl, and wasn't right. And C). any Superbowl which the Cowboys played and didn't win wasn't right either. Therefore I say unto you, Remember all the injustice, whether it be the "Ice Bowl" (NFL Championship, 1967, Packers 21, Cowboys 17), Superbowl One, or last year's Superbowl!!

<Big Grin!>

[Obviously I wasn't at the Alamo or Goliad either, but I remember them!]

P.S. Texas Lawdog, I'm still hoping to see you at a Ten Horns match one of these days. We're having a great time, and it's well worth the drive from mid-cities. I'm still more than willing to drive if you'll PM me ahead of time.
;)

Obviously the Cowboys aren't America's team....because the Packers are.  The Cowboys are the kids on the block ;D

As a vendor, on site we will have David Peterson of Latta Manufacturing & Big Horn Leather.  David builds custom horse tack and custom gun leather.  I've seen some of his work and it is remarkable.

Since we have lots of out-of-state folks coming for this match, I thought I post a link to a few pictures of our range and stages.

For the gamers, I figured they'd want to calibrate their sights to the appropriate target distance settings.   ;D

Long range forecast is looking good for next week:  Highs in the 60's, lows in the 40's.  Chance of showers on Monday & Tuesday, but clear skies for Wednesday to Friday.

Let's hope this forecast holds.

Folks, we're talking about Texas. If you don't like the weather, hang around for 15 minutes. It'll change for you.

<grin>

Texas Lawdog

Kflatch, We're gonna have great weather for the Shoot.

I figure we will. My point is that there will probably be some times with a light breeze and probably be some times with no wind. Usually this time of year is real nice overall. It sure has been wonderful the last few days!

Texas Lawdog

I'm hoping that we don't get too much rain, at least before the Shoot. I don't like to wade around in it.

CNN.com weather doesn't mention rain at all in their 10 day forecast. Weather.com mentions the possibility of "few showers" late next week. They've (some of the club members) done a bunch of work laying bull carpet and spread wood chip mulch around the area uprange of the stages and they've created a nice walkway up to the parking lot so between that and the existing grass there shouldn't be much problem with mud even if there is a bit of rain. The only place I'd watch out for is in the parking lot - there's a few spots there that get muddy.

Texas Lawdog

I will steer clear of the mud bogs as much as possible, especially the ones in the parking area.

Soft ground & mud should not be an issue.

1)  We are going to have 2 good weeks of dry weather.  It would take a major down pour to make the parking boggy.  If we get any rain, it looks like it will be light.  Several of us where out there Saturday and the ground looked good.

2)  Cole has worked with our range owner to segregate the parking & vendor area to optimize our useable ground.

3)  Larry, Diablo, Ruidoso, & Frisco finished the  bull carpet and mulch, which is  laid all the way from the parking lot to the block house.  We will be allowing shooters with carts to keep their carts on the mulch to keep their wheels & heels dry & clean.
