NDNCHF, I am still trying to decide on a holster to make for it. I keep thinking a shoulder rig would be really cool, but would need to carry around a few lbs of ammo on the other side to help even it out.

It was a joy to make, and I cant wait to fire it. Hopefully this week sometime. Bet its loud and has fireball the size of Nebraska.
(at least I hope so, night shoot is coming)

I love it, and I bet someone somewhere did the same to an original, it makes a lot of sense.

Mako

Dalton,
That's great, I really enjoyed the first time when I saw the picture on the Darksider forum.

Is the front sight tall enough?  Have you shot it yet?  I'm really interested in how it shoots for you.

Best of luck,

Nope Mako. Havent had a chance to get away yet. Heading to Wyoming on vacation tomorrow, so hopefully will be able to let her off come Labor Day. I am not sure about the sight. Its the factory one just moved back. I will have to see what it does. It is soldered a little higher than it was, so hopefully will be alright.

Any prospects for converting it in the future?
A work in progress.

Nice job, Dalton, dont know if I would have the balls to take a hacksaw to mine!

Talking about a conversion, have you laid a 45-70 case alongside the cylinder,,,hhhmmmm ???

I think that is so COOL!!!  :o  But Gus wonders if there's enough barrel to whack a surly bartender!!  ;D :D ;)

Dalton Masterson

Not as much leverage, but still plenty of steel there to whack one with. You know a surly one to test it on??

Great gun Dalton. 8)

So,,,by diligent measurement,,a bit of conversion and a slight amount of guesstimation,,,that leaves you with about 4.5" of .45cal

rifled barrel rolling about on your workshop bench?

Once again,,,,hmmmm.

Angel Eyes, if you are looking for a barrel to cut, I have one.  Actually if any of you pards have the urge to get a saw out, I have barrel for most Colt C&B revolvers.  I also have various part in various conditions.  Just shoot me a list of what you're looking for.  Parts are Colt Signature Series (same as/made by Uberti)

Here's hoping it works well for you.  But I say that the experimental "compact" Walker still needs a full-sze hosre to pack it on.   :D

Very nice and unique piece.

Dalton Masterson

It works very well. I shot it in a match last month, and although I didnt shoot the whole match with it, I did shoot clean.

The gun actually balances very well, and my guesstimation on site placement and height is minute of steel. Still need to finetune it on paper, but the cowboy season is about over, so I can go do paper target work and see where it actually shoots.

I am almost tempted to get another one, and do it again. Maybe a Dragoon instead tho...

I think you underestimate its potential.  Think blockbuster loud, and comet-sized fireball!
