Firearm Markings

Just wondering if you are allowed to remove the markings from a revolver or rifle denoting the manufacturer seller etc.  Example:  Pieta, for black powder ony etc.

Certainly, it's your's...I have de-farb many for films, & sold them later.
There is fellow, on this BB that does it for a living....
And both Kenny Howell & Millington remove markings on their conversions.

You can even remove or alter the SS# if you like, C&B's are not required to conform to FFL or Registration
