My customer picked these knives up at the Blade Show in Atlanta, and then called me for dressing them.Dave  ;D

The first is for a Rob Patton forged Rifleman's knife. The sheath is inlayed in Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake and laced in a Mexican basketweave pattern.

The second is for a Gary Root bowie. He wanted it to be a boot knife so no beltloop, just a stud to hook the top of the boot.It is tooled and dyed in a faux snakeskin pattern.

Howdy Dave
Those are really good lookin.
What size and spacing did you punch the lacing holes and what size lace did you use?

Thanks WC, I used 3/32" lace, with 3/32" hole on the first threr ,then 1/8" on the doubles.Spacing was 1/4".Dave ;D

Those are fine sheaths. I like the lacing on the top one a lot. On the second one, the stud is a good idea. I guess that would work as long as your boot wasn't too sloppy loose. Both look really good. Nice work, pard.

Faux snakeskin. I like it! Looks like you used a mulefoot punch for that? Never use mine much, maybe I finally found a good reason to have them.

Thanks guys. Similar to a Mule Foot and that will work, but Sandy Morrissey , my mentor made mine for me since he showed me the technique.Dave ;D

Those are great Dave. The lacing makes my fingers hurt just looking at it but it is the perfect touch.
Thanks for posting the pic of the tool. Alot of us make tools so it is always a treat to see other homemade ones.
