Howdy guys, thought I would check in now that I'm in SOCAL. I had a great time meeting WC and 10 Wolves at WC's shop. I had a little hassle getting my rental car business straightened out, so we got out there a little later than I anticipated.

Well, WC is one gracious dude, as is 10 Wolves. It was great to examine some of WC's work up close. The saddle is great, but I was most impressed by his saddle bags. They are a work of art. I was able to buy a set of background stamps, which WC demonstrated for me. I brought my Henley swivle knife to get his opinion on, and he did a nice demo carving to show me it worked just fine.

My friend Dan had never been in a leather shop before, and was blown away by the excellent work. WC has a lot of finished work on the walls for examination and inspiration, and examine we did!

We took some pictures, which I will post when I get back home. I'm writing this from the hotel computer.

Meeting WC and 10 Wolves has made my day! Thanks guys, for the great welcome. JD

Actually, we were having a better time than that picture shows. We all look pretty somber :P  I wish we had thought to take a picture before 10 Wolves had to leave. For all you Pards who've not met WC, I can tell you he is a class act, and treated us with warmth and hospitality. The gal that runs the Trading Post is real nice too, but I forgot her name. Cathy, maybe?

That fella in between WC & I is my shooting mentor and good firend Dan Suit, aka Poke Along. He is a heck of a good Pard to ride the river with. He was absolutely blown away by WC's work. He talked about it the rest of the day, and told all our other friends from Oregon about it.

I'm looking forward to meeting Daniel Nighteyes in Piru either today or tomorrow. JD

I may own the store but Sandi is the boss, she runs the place. Without her I would not have a store.

I know this is the leather forum, so I'll keep it short. The shoot is over for all but the open shooters and the shoot off, which happens this morning. Lefty's group of guys and club are just great. We've had a great time. It was a pleasure to meet Daniel Nighteyes and Excaliber, who both spend time on this board. John (Excaliber) is a student of WC, and a real fine guy. I shot on the same posse with him. I met a lot of really fine Pards, and a couple of ego hounds, but you can't fault the club for who shows up at a shoot!. I believe WC is going to try to get out to Piru this morning, so I will be able to show off RT's spur strap work. JD
