Anyone know who is making an 1873 in 38-40?

I am looking to pick up one and haven't seen too many for sale that aren't original ($$$$$$$)...

Thanks!

For all practical purposes, there's only one maker of repro 73's -- Uberti.  (There are a few Chapparals around, but they have a poor reputation for quality and you seldom see them anymore.)  Uberti occasionally makes a run of .38-40s, I have one.  You just have to scour the auction sights for a used one or hope Uberti runs off a fresh batch.

Here's two of them, one rifle and one carbine, take your choice.   I only looked on GB, there's always gunsamerica.com and auctionarms.com too.  They aren't hard to find.   Do a google search on Uberti or EMF 73  38-40

I just bought one that was ordered from Cimarron Fire Arms, for me, by a local FFL dealer. At that time, they had five left in the model I bought.

I bought the Deluxe Sporting Rifle with a 24" barrel in .38-40. When it arrived, and I opened the package, I was amazed at how good it looked.

Based on how nice the .38-40 Deluxe Sporting Rifle looked, and felt, I ordered another in .44-40 also. Same thing again, it is another great rifle, right out of the box.

My next rifle will probably the same thing, except this time I want a .32-20.

Just FYI, Cimarron is currently out of 20" pistol grip 38-40's but has every other configuration in stock.
