New to this How do I store 25 lbs of 3f in bulk. I am picking up 25lbs in a bag I am told. The price seems to good to buy it in less 25 lbs cans about $3.50 a pound more in cans.      Cornwell Kidd

I haven't seen BP available to individuals in bulk form....large commercial / Military applications would get the powder in bulk.
If I were able to get a sweet deal in bulk, I'd make good use of the numerous metal cans I've saved up and repackage it.
This seems way safer to me....like the difefrence between leaving primers in the factory packaging vs. the guy who dumps them all loose into a quart size jar.....

Be safe,

I have been blistfully unaware of any concerns about the temperature for storing Black Powder.  Therefore you may take my own experience as an unplanned test of temperature storage of Black Powder.   ;D

I leave my "workshop trailer" stored in an RV storage facility in the open desert down in the Palm Springs area.  The temperature in the shade around those parts commonly gets into the 120 range.  In that enclosed trailer sitting in the sun it gets HOT.  There are now and have been the last two summers several cans of black powder on the shelf above the loading bench.   The trailer has been there and undamaged by any explosions each time I've returned and so after a "proof test" of the last two summers I fully expect it to be in the same condition as I left it when I return in late October.

That should settle the question about temperature of black powder storage.   Unless . . . some enterprising experimentor would like to do some travel to the Sahara . . . or try storing powder in the oven of his stove.   (  See an episode in Mark Twain's book "Roughing It" for more about storing black powder in an oven.  A very interesting account   ::) ).
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

Kid, if you live within driving distance of a Goex Distributor, call them and order a bag.  Individuals must pick it up in person
