A very sad day for me

It is with the deepest regret that I pass on the news that my dearest Mother passed away last night at Seymour (Victoria - Aus) hospital from the affects of what appears to be a heart attack.

She was only 76, but her body was starting to fail her.

I now have the unenviable task of going down to Victoria today and arranging the finalities.

If I am not at places I should be, or have previously arranged, please forgive me as I now have other things I need to attend to.

Kindest regards

When my father, and then six months later my mother passed, I remember feeling like I had been orphaned.

I wish you Godspeed and His Grace to fill you when you don't know where to turn.

First off, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and wishes.

The ceremony was held last Friday and except for some choked up moments went reasonably well.

That was until Friday night when my son made a request to have his Grandmothers dog as a reminder of her. Things turned a little sour then.
It seemed to ease off on Saturday and there seemed to be a sort of peace around the place.
until yesterday morning. I asked about the dog again and was given a NO response. Seems she is not all that well aparently - I failed to see any issue (still likes to chase sticks and balls and wears herself out - as any dog does). His girlfriend is a Vet-Nurse, so any care would be IMMEDIATE. Rosemary (my sister) would have to take her to the vet, wait and pay for the consultation plus any meds required. Let alone the OTHER dog she has, plus the 4 cats, plus the cockatoo they will be taking, plus the budgies she will also be taking.

The only thing my son really has of his grandfather is a 'photo of him holding a parrot that was a pet.
The only thing he has of his grandmothers is a 'photo of his grandfather holding a parrot.

and she gave him a look when he said he had taken that from the 'photo wall.

My daughter is in a similar boat. VERY little to remember them BOTH by.

Upon thinking about it, I also have VERY LITTLE personal effects to remember them by.

It seems to be a case of "it's all about me. What I want"

Her kids (my godchildren) will have the lot.

It is amazing how, in death, greed and selfishness manifests itself.

I made my thoughts and opinions clear yesterday about my son and the dog by packing the car 2 days early and coming home then. It may have been the wrong thing to do, but if I had stayed, things may have gotten worse.

Sorry to vent. I needed to get some things down in print so I can focus on the next steps. Mum made a local solicitor the Executor of the will and he said as he was reading things " I am not comfortable about this". Maybe I need to follow up on what pressure can be brought to bear.

Thanks for listening.

Regards

The way people behave in times like these indicate the 'real' person and whether or not we should associate with them in the future.

Sorry for your loss Judge, see you on the firing line soon.

PLease excuse type, I'm in China and the computer is not co-operating.
