Powder, Inc. says Skirmish is no more. Too bad, I liked it in shotgun.

The Lyman 378674 might be a bit pointy to use in a lever gun. But the lever guns weren't really meant for 800 yard shooting, nor the 38-55 either.

You'ld be surprised at how well levergunners can do with a properly set up rifle, and load at distance.
I'm not aware of a long range shoot where anything but single loading is allowed so the "pointy bullet" thing doesn't cause much of a problem

I agree!  I also use the 3F.  I think there is one distributor that has the Fg which is what I will miss.
Check out  Jack's Powder Keg

I read his "Battle Powder" was from the same source that Skirmish came from.  When we were trying to figure out what Skirmish was about Christmas time John Boy contacted Jerry at Powder Inc. and he told us the Fg was Chinese fireworks power, unglazed but the right grain size.  The Mad Monk, ( AKA Bill Knight) thinks it was powder that came in through  LA  "In April of 2005 somebody brought 37,732 pounds of Chinese made black powder into the U.S., LEGALLY, at a landed duty paid value of 59 cents a pound.  Came into the U.S. under the HTS 3601 propellant powder code.  Who got it is uknown. D.B"

Jack has it for $255/25lbs.  He will mix the grain types in an order.  Otherwise it's back to Goex Fg from Powder Inc. at $13.10/lb. (25 Llb. orders) They don't have KIK in Fg, but they have 2F and 3F at $10.75/lb.  Diamondback is also only in 2F and 3F at $10.00/lb. (25 lb. Min.)  I love the guys at Powder Inc. They have really tried to provide us good product at good prices and have sought out things like Skirmish and DiamondBack for us.  I have a few cans of Skirmish Fg left I keep hoping they will offer DiamondBack, KIK or something else in Fg before I run out.

Aww, darn it. I looked at their site a week ago or so, and couldnt find the Skirmish. That explains a lot. Thank you.
How is the diamondback?
My last order from them, was mainly KIK 2F and Skirmish 1F. I like the KIK a lot, but the diamondback IS cheaper. (not much mind tho)

Thanks for the link to JacksPowderKeg! I will check them out tomorrow.

Are you aware that you can buy bulk bags from Powder Inc.? I think you have to pick it up but with a sizable savings.
