Cornwell Kid, I wonder how the gun functions with the Italian nipples? You can try CCI caps and see what happens. You can find out who does the "CapGuards" and get that installed. That's where the hammer face is narrowed and a small plate narrows the hammer recess so caps don't fit in there to get under the hammer or in the action and ,I suppose, may keep the spent caps in the nipple recess better so the spent caps don't jam after they rotate past the hammer.
Sometimes a bevel on the corner of the edge of the hammer recess keeps the spent cap from snagging on it and pulling it out of the nipple recess enough to jam on that edge or come out enough to jam a little ways around. There's already a recess there on the side of the hammer recess so there's more room for spent caps to rotate but the caps can still get cought on that corner. If the corner is rounded off some it has less chance of snagging a spent cap. Might be "Dremel Time".
It might even help to dremel out the nipple recess so it's wider. Nit at the part that contacts the recoil shields raised ring though. Just up there where the wide part of the recess is. If it's wide enough the spent caps may stay in there better.
