Buffalo Arms says the height is measured from sight base to bottom of dovetail. I want a 1/16th ivory bead,,but what height do I need to properly fit in the Uberti/Cimarron dovetail of my '73Win ?

Thanks gents

There is a table with a formula on the Marbles site. I used it the other day on mine 76. I havn't had chance to shoot it yet, hope to in a week or so. I think theyre site is marblesfirearms or marblearms.com. Midway has a full list of theyre front and rear sites, and I think a formula to figure it out. I also have a formula for adjusting front site windage, but its kinda long (easy to use) tho. It works for hight and left ot right.
Will try and post in the A.M. when I get home from work.
Have to go to work now

When I build competition guns, I use the marbles 41W base with the big bead.  Same Same when I use the Grabber front sight from bananariveroutfitters.com
The 41W I believe is .410 tall and usually shoot to point of aim with cowboy loads (and others as well).

Hi,

I had the same exact thing on my Model 94 ... they tapped the old sight out, took a micrometer to it ... turned out to be a total height of site (from bottom of site to tallest point on site) of .450 inches.

So they ordered a Marbles .450 and then tapped the site back in and boresited it. So I can use the rifle for competitions until the Marbles front site comes in ...

Hope this helps.
