The fella at Prairie Flower was really nice. I like the fact that their products are U.S. made and I'm very proud to support them because of this fact. I'm also proud to be a member of this organization, I feel it's an honor to carry on the spirit of the men who fought to make this country what it is today.

Respectfully,

Just don't get impatient. Steff makes each medal to order. Sometimes he has a few on hand, but sometimes an order will take awhile.

It's taking a while indeed :-\  I called him last week and he said a mould broke, so he had to make a new one, but sheesh 18 days?

Texas Lawdog

Like Jerry said it takes a while for a custom made medal like that. I have waited 3 months before on a custom made Law Enforcement Badge.

Making a mold with a lot of detail, such as the GAF medal requires, take a steady hand and lots of magnification and can't be done quickly.

I'm just excited, I wasn't implying anything, I know good things take time, it's just me  ;D

Steff's quality control is very good. He won't send out a medal that isn't right. Sometimes that means that the metal that makes up your medal has got re-melted several times. He has to make a new mould each time he casts medals. If the mould breaks, it usually doesn't show up until he's actually casting. And that means he has to start a fairly time consuming process all over again.

Producing our medals isn't Prairie Flower Leather's main product, it's a sideline. The posetive part of that is that the last I checked PFLC produced medals cost $40 instead of costing $70 as the previous maker charged.

When I said to be patient, I meant just that. It took almost 2 years for the first Iron Trooper medals to be finished. (And it was a wait that was worth it.) It won't take that long for your membership medal, but it may take a couple of months.

When you do receive it you can be assured that it was made FOR YOU and not just taken off a shelf and mailed.
