Ok darksiders, Im getting ready for some BP matches. Im using APP 2F, and magnum primers.  What bullet should I use?  A  .357 or .358,  I have a large supply of both so that's not a consideration for me.  Wondering if I should shoot 3 stages of .358 and then switch to the .357 for the final 3 stages to compensate for fouling build up in the barrel? Is that dumb, or something that could help? Thanks, JB

Always use a lead bullet .001" to .002" above groove depth of your gun for best accuracy.  Don't switch to a smaller diameter bullet because of "fouling".  That will probably only get you leading issues.  The bullets always fill the bore, regardless of any BP fouling.

John, no need to use them unless that's all you have or got a deal on them.  A LP or LR will light the powders your using nicely.

Rifle, pistol, both?

In the past, I've used APP in my C&B pistols, but never in cartridges. I'd run a run a pre-soaked, BP patch through them, after two stages, just to make sure. I do the same with my rifle now. After two stages, I run a pre-soaked patch through it to get the fouling out. And, I'll soak the action with Knights BP cleaner after the second stage.

Yea, I acctually had to look in the reloading book to make sure what size primers they use. I do use small primers in 9 m/m but it's the only pistol caliber that I use them in. SR primers I use in . Remington 223 and 7 M/M TCU. Explains why I have so many small primers and I'm always low on large ones.
