I have a Pietta Colt Paterson pistol and a Pietta LeMat pistol I would like to have "defarbed". Does anyone know of someone who defarbs pistols exactly like these? I was told these pistols are a bit more 'complex' to dismantle and assemble but I would think that would not affect the defarbing process. Any information is appreciated.

I would start by contacting the guys who handle gun restoration.  Bob Millington, Doug Turnbull, Ron's Gun Shop, etc..

You'll find varying costs based on the level of detail and finish you desire.  I would think any of the "big names" could handle those two guns.

You do realize that any part that is defarbed will likely require refinishing, right?
It's no problem on the refinishing, I understand it's necessary. I have been in touch with 1 so called   "Mastergunsmith", so far. He refused to do the job, stating that it was 'too hard'. Claiming the Paterson and LeMat were 'impossible' to dismantle and reassemble. Then he went on in an arrogant manner, to lecture me on how theses pistols were never used during the civil war. I told him he needed to check his sources before he claimed to know something he did not. Except not in those kind words.  ;D
