Well I just F****D the seat up and found out the rear jockys won't fit. Have to do all of them over. What a waste of time and leather.
Not happy with myself.........

By the look of things, this saddle will be outstanding. This is a setback but not one to ruin the whole thing. I've tossed a few pieces before, too. I usually end up doing something better than I had planned anyway. This may work out for the better.

Howdy MW
That's what my advanced students were telling me tonight to keep me from throwing things, IE: headknives, hammers, etc.  ;D
I may have salvaged the seat  :-\ but the jockys have to be redone.  >:(

Hammers I can live with but those head knives are another story. ;D Glad to hear you salvaged the seat. That's a good amount of leather and work.

Well I think I saved the seat leather. Got the pattern on late last night and started carving around noon today.
Have to wait for the leather to dry up a bit to do the tooling.

I sure like that basic scroll work, WC. Very nice even before you continue with it.

Yes, that is just carved in with the knife. I started beveling while my students were working. Just got back from the gym and might get some more baveling done before I go home.

G'Day WC, That pattern looked just like your work & when I saw that it was for a saddle horn,I thought it was right up your alley.Feathers

If I hadn't already done the horn I might have thought about it. One nice thing about this saddle is all the carving patterns on it are mine.
