I have a couple of PreWars that I haven't shot yet so over the weekend I took my 5 1/2 barreld 45 Colt out to the range.  Well let me tell you this is one of the most accurate pistols that I have shot!  I used to shoot custom 1911's back in the day and they have nothing on this PreWar for accuracy.  I loaded it with Black Hills 250 gr. RNFP rounds, held it up, pressed the trigger again and again, as I proceeded to blow out the X ring of a small silhoutte target.  The windage was right on and shooting out the center of targets was quite satisfying!

Now, I'm a fair shot but this gun made me look great!  They had guys shooting Glocks around me and they were no where near as accurate and were not shooting any faster.  Old tech still has it!  ;D

It is funny how quality always wins out in the end.

A poorly made firearm with a so-so shooter produces nothing to talk about.  A poorly made firearm and a good shooter can produce adequate results.  A finely crafted high quality firearm, like US Firearms, in the hands of a good shooter will produce amazing results.

Wild Will;  did you cock that ol' pre-war between presses of the trigger?  Maybe that's why you got a ONE hole group!
