WOW, I had a fun time this Memorial Day Weekend and had to share!!!

True Grit is a specialty annual match put on by the Umpqua Regulators in Roseburg, Oregon.  It is a ten stage, two day match with lots of shooting!

To maximize shooting, each stage is double length with twice the standard round count (50+):
  (4)-pistols, (2)-rifles, and (1)-shotgun, 10 rounds min.

For a black powder shooter, it is incredibly fun and challenging!  The amount of smoke generated on one stage is just unbelievable.

The link below is of me shooting FC on stage 4.  The second link is Jed I Knight shooting FC Gunfighter on stage 3.  It was late morning and a light wind was helpful, though it was on/off and not steady.

Did I mention how much fun I had?!!!

Good smoke, good flix.  Glad you posted it.  I like the empties rolling around on the hats.  Gives it that feeling that Hollywood doesn't get.

I saw that too - I was amused to see that. Real life is so different than hollywood  ;D

Great clips - thanks Col. !

The biggest challenge was shooting all that at WHITE painted targets.
In the morning, it was cool and overcast, and the smoke just hung out.

I told the MD that there are many other colors at the paint store... and he just smiled. :)

Your welcome Col.!

People really seem to be enjoying the videos – I've received a lot of positive feedback.  We'll have to do some more – especially on the mornings when the smoke really reduces our visibility.  We got "pretty lucky" breezes on a few stages during True Grit.
