I've had my Nevada permit since '97.  Our state requires make, model, and caliber (not serial number) for each type of firearm carried.
Mine includes Colt SAA .45 colt.  Gives me ablility to carry any of my 5 cowboy guns.

Here in Iowa, Its make, model, cal AND Sn.  Qualify with it if you carry it.

I hate to see a right made a privlige.  Rights come from the Creator.  The second amendment only protects that right.  WE have allowed government to make it a non-right.  But at least I can carry here for now.

We are in one of only about 7 states that a legal-tax-payn'-law-abidin' citizen is NOT ALLOWED to privately carry a firearm.

However LB 454 is gonna be dicussed in our state Unicameral again this year with more crap attached to it.
It has been fillibusted every year that it has been brough up in session.  An' by the SAME legislator.  He's the one who wears a T SHIRT to the Unicameral.  An' he has held the same office since I was in High School.

Term limits has got to get him out soon.  Then maybe excercise our RIGHT TO CARRY.

Hello:
In Spain our gun laws are very restrictive. Only police officers can carry guns. I´m  a privileged because I´m a career soldier and for this reason I can carry guns, concealed if I´m wearing civilian clothes, and unconcealed, if I´m wearing my uniform.

I'm with HM on this one.. I don't have a CCW because I refuse to let my rights be subject to permit.  I don't need to carry but if I did, I would.. better to be judged by 12 as they say.

Hey Mustang Greg, that wouldn't happen to be Ernie Chambers would it? I used to love seeing clips on the news of him leaving a session in his sweats. ::)

Pardon for not having answered before, but I have been outside of my house some days. When I retire I will lose all my privileges like a soldier. I will be able to have my weapons to compete, but I will need a shooting sport licence, (I already have it).
But until I retire, I will enjoy them.
Sorry to my bad english grammar.

I had a guy ask me why I carry.

Simple -- I'd rather have it and not have to use it than not have it and wish I did.

I hope I NEVER nave to use it and I hope the rest of you feel the same.

Capt. Hamp Cox

Got mine as soon as they were legal here.  Texana has hers also.  Renewal every four years.  Those of you who have been reading gun mags for a while might recognize the name of my partner for the shooting qualification portion of the course.  It was Finn Aagaard (now deceased).  His hearing was so bad (from years of shooting without hearing protection) that I had to tap him on the shoulder when the fire/cease fire buzzer sounded.  He was a very interesting guy who got into CAS in the late '90s.

Concealed Carry has been legal in Ohio for about 6 months.  I don't have my permit yet, but plan on getting it before they change the law again.  My one concern however, is that the State may require a listing of every gun that you own.  Not sure I'm comfortable with that.
