Howdy folks. Was just going thru some old photos I had, trying to make a book of my work, and found this one. It is the very first holster I made that was made out of veg. tanned leather, albeit old dry veg tan. I made it, hated it, and ended up selling it on Ebay for 10 bucks. Wonder where it is now..

Well, let's see your latest too!

looking good.

but i gotta go against you on the first one.

granted the first one needs some improvements, but the pattern you chose is very good.
i have not seen that stamp used before as a filler stamp like you used it as.

very well done.

OK guys I''ll bite.

1st holster

Latest holsters.

I think we are all improving every time we do some work.  Some of us are at the start of our game and a lot of you are up to the Professional level.  But we are trying our best to get up to a level in between so we don't look like beginers anymore.

I think it is nice to see the improvements ALL of us have made.
I look at the holsters I use to make that were made from Hobby Lobby scrap bags, and look at what all you guys here have taught me, and I just want to thank you all.
Thank you.

I'd say you're there for sure, pard. Your work has matured nicely. Thanks for the posts.

Thanks, Dalton. That's my own brand so the holster will always be around my place somewhere. I suppose without that, I wouldn't have it any more. ::)

I think we did this once before, but it's always fun to bring it up again, my first holster I made when I was eleven years old, that was in 1956, I've been Cowboy all my life, I liked leather then but didn't have the opportunity to go any farther with it. in 2006 CowboyWC, persuaded me to give it a try, and I've been doing it ever since, this last rig I did is as close of a copy of a holster and money belt I saw in Texas back in 1980, at a Saddle & Western Wear Shop, they had it in a glass case, and you couldn't handle it or touch it, the sign said it was from the years of 1870 to 1880, and was called a Mexican one loop, it had an over sized skirt, and lots of border tooling and adorned with nickel spots and a few concho's, I think I made it very close to what I remember seeing, and yea leather is a journey.

                                           Regards

                                     tEN wOLVES  ;) ;D
