Are you having actor Ben Cooper to the lunch? I got your email and you mentioned fast gunhandler or the like and a celebrity. So, that eliminated you and Cliff and maybe Prof Bullspit too. So, I thought of Ben Cooper, since it was he that taught the likes of Sammy Davis Jr. and other notables fast draw and gun handling. I gave Rowdy Yates a thought too, since he is this years California State Champ in I think it was FC.
I met Ben, one time at Cajon Cowboys Legends of the West match and thought he was a really nice person. I enjoyed his stories immensely.  :)

Unfortunately, I am too far away to be there for lunch, and laid up too, but I sure enjoyed the one time I did make the GLB festivities. Too bad we tore that place up and now can't go to that restaurant any more.  Wait a minute, I think that was the same place I was at, the one with no parking. You had to bribe them ? ;D

One of these days I'll have an excuse to be down  in the LA for a visit, and I hope it matches up with one of your lunches!  I'd love to stop by and shoot some bull.

Howdy
Sorry to hear you're laid up.  I'll have to blow some smoke rings in your honor at High Sierra this weekend!

Russ T, didja have to mention High Sierra? Dang that was always such a great shoot. No place I have ever been matches the scenario of the stages and that narrow trail and the buffaloes wandering across the way. And to think I lived not 15 miles from there and now I am way down in Bakersfield. I had a lot of fun a few years ago with you Nevada pards, thats for sure. So, I will have to make it for next years match. See ya there.  :)

I am on the mend. To think the last time I shot was November and by golly it was with ol' Forty Rod too. So thanks for thinking of me pard.

Howdy, I apologize for the misunderstandings:

1. This lunch/guest combo is NOT imminent.  It may take some considerable time to pull off...if we ever do.

2. "Fast Draw" (Note the quotation marks) has nothing to do with gun handling.  I was attempting to convey that if this comes off it may be on REALLY short notice.  I don't recall the guest ever being particularly proficient with guns.

3. The guest that I'm trying to get is NOT a member of SASS or any other CAS club to the best of my knowledge.

4. This person is not primarily a "western" actor but has appeared in a number of westerns and has acted alongside such western actors as John Wayne, Ben Johnson, Richard Boone, Glen Ford, Slim Pickens, Bruce Dern, Jack Palance, Jack Elam, as well as others, usually with his/her/its name near the top of the credits.

5. I let it slip that the guest is an actor?  Thought I might have there a time or several.

Now, about this being laid up BS.  What did you do this time?

I know, you are working on getting Ronald Reagan for lunch  ;D

I got a bad case of shingles. Some kind of old timers disease. Must have got it from you, cuz I ain't no old timer.  ;D

I am on the mend though. I expect I will be dancing all over the stage if you will do the string pulling.  ;D

I swear one of these days I am going to up and retire and then I will make yer lunches all the time.  :)
