Does this need to fit a 4inch belt or just and outside measurement?? I have some square brass buckles that are 3 5/8 outside, but the inside is only 2 1/2 so belts need to be tapered to the inside measurement. I think these are the biggest buckle Weaver sells?

I think that Tandy also sells some larger buckles but they are quite cheaply made and don't look very beffy.

I also have the big brass cinch buckles from horse tack that are about 4inches but when I think of santa belts I think of the square buckles and the cinch buckles are a semisqare/round...but quite heavy.

Someone else may have a better connection than I but if I can help just let me know.

Look under re-enactors supply places and I believe I have seen fur trade era buckles that were rather large.
