Here's some pics of a couple of guns (not mine) that came in from Uberti that STORM folks might appreciate.
The first is a factory engraved and silver plated Type II.  The fluorescent lights made it a little hard to photograph, but not too bad.  There was a pair of them, probably a special order for somebody.

Now for the second gun, there is something unusual about this charcoal blue 1861, can anyone spot it?

The recoil shield is cut for a detachable shoulder stock, however there are no attachment screws on the frame either.

Beat me to it. Also, it has really nice case colors.

Steel BS. No capping groove as well, however some Ubertis had them & some don't which is true to the originals.

Abilene

Okay, here's a hint.  The barrel is not 7 1/2" ..........

I thought about that but there's no perspective in the photo to go on. I'll guess 7" instead of 7.5".  ???

Abilene

Okay, here's the scoop.   I didn't actually measure the barrel but I'd estimate that rather than 7 1/2" , it is actually approximately 7 1/2 CENTIMETERS  :o ;D

I'd seen some of Uberti miniature SAA's before, but this is the first time I've seen a mini percussion.  Awesome detail, everything works.

Thanks for sharing. Without your input here I have been pretty bored!

I understand that Cimarron has made some nifty changes to the 1875 Remington (pinched frame for one). Can you take some detailed pics and post them over on the SCORRS forum? I'm hoping that they are nicer than the old ERMF pistols.

I am contemplating one in 45 Colt and then purchasing an extra 357 cylinder to ream out to shoot 44 Heel Base rounds in, but I am concerned about the location of any proof marks.

Thanks

I was never much turned on by engraved handguns, but that engraved and silver-plated Open Top changes my attitude.

Absolutely beautiful revolver!

Abilene, what's something like that cost?

Abilene

Howdy Grouch, I had to look at the price list.  In addition to the price of the gun, silver plating is $350 List ($250 dealer), and conversion engraving isn't listed but OT standard engraving is $1406 List (dealer $1081) - so dealer price on that gun is around $1762 - OUCH!  :o

I remember about 7 or 8 years ago Uberti was supposed to silver plate the gripframes of a number of guns (either '51 R-M's or OT's, can't remember) but they accidently plated the whole guns.  Those got sold at a discount but with no warranty on the finish.  Loose Cannon Lou got one and shot it quite a bit, the silver held up fine.

Ouch!!

I must wait on either Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy to deliver those.

Talking about Eye Candy and the Tooth Faery,  several years back, Uberti built 7 or 8 replicas of a '66 rifle, presented to a Mexican El Presadente.  The original had been Silver Plated.  The Replica was SOLID SILVER, fully engraved with presentation grade wood.  Then the really good part.  They (the silver rifles) were actually proofed!!
I started looking for banks with no security cameras, no on-floor guards and lots of money.  No luck.  Then Uberti Sold "Silver 7," the example here in the states.  I understand it went to a collector (boo hiss) to disappear into a safe and never be played with.  I understand it went for either 28 or 38 grand.
Had it gone to me, I'd been shooting it at the next match!!!

You mean this puppy?  ;)  It is a copy of the original '66 presented by the president of Peru to the president of Bolivia in the 19th century and is absolutley gorgeous!!  :P

FCK,

That would indeed be "The Puppy."  Had I the loose change, I'd be shooting it at the PA state match this coming weekend, yes siree bob!!  That one is going to disappear into someone's safe too.

Can you just imagine the "STYLE POINTS" pulling that out of your kart for the first ..... ah or any stage??"

Just to have a "small" fortune!!

Howdy Abilene,
Do you happen to know what the top guns were selling for! I just cant bring my self to spend $400.00 each on my 51 US Marshalls, to have them converted! I have a pair of Taylor 72's in 38's, and just love shooting them!
So I was just a wondering  what those factory engraved postols sold for!
