Two Flints

I have had a 1865 Burnside Spencer and have been looking for some folks with similar interests....Hopefully I have gotten stated correctly...

mafteechr

Mike Baker, the Mafteechr, here, looking forward to to getting in touch with people with similar interests as me. I am fortunate enough to own a 1865 Burnside Spencer. I have not been able to get much/any info on it. Am I in the right place???

Blair

mafteechr,

I would say you are in the correct place to learn about Spencer's.
However, you may not be able to find some of the historical documentation you may want on the M1865's, either the Spencer made or Burnside Contract variations.
Welcome!
My best,
Blair

Hey Folks!  Looking to join this fine group shooting one of to coolest rifles ever made.  I've got 2 so far.  One is a Armi-Sport that I've turned into a 1866-68 style Sporting Rifle in 56-50.  The other is an original 56-46 Sporting Rifle.  I shoot and hunt with both.
I'd love to host a Spencer shoot here at my place if folks would care to have one.  I'm in West Central Georgia near Buena Vista, GA.
I have a 365 yrd rifle range that we could use for it, but if you need more distance there is an 800 yrd range close to me.
Plenty of room to ride horses on dirt rds in this area to fill down time.  Always looking to meet new friends who like me, just can't get enough of these rifles.  IJ

Hello The Camp,
I wish to join the SSS with a Sporting Rifle in .56-50 built on an original 1860 action.  It's great to have such a group here!  Thank you!
All the best,

I wish to join SSS with a Spencer that has a Burnside barrel. Caliber unknown wit faded markings on top Hope to learn more before I give it to my gunsmith to fix the "half-cock" and read sight. Missing spring assembly.

Thanks,
