Two Flints,

To be honest I can not remember where or who I first heard it from, but I did talk to someone at Taylors about 3 - 4 weeks ago and they said that a rifle version would be available this spring or summer. Calibers  are .56-50 and .44-40.

I hope that what I have been told is correct. If anyone can find out anymore indepth information I would be glad to know myself.

                                                                                                                  John.

Captain John,

The reason I ask is about two months ago I sent Tammy Loy (Boss Person at Taylors) an Email asking her if Taylors would ever consider importing a Spencer rifle from Italy to go with their carbine.  She never got back to me, which is why I jumped to respond to your comments about a rifle.  I think I read somewhere, too, that Armi Sport was already working on a rifle design, but can't remember where I saw the information.

Sgt Buck checking in.
A rifle sounds like a fun thing, but how many 44-40's could a Spencer hold?

Have numerous muzzle stuffers & breechloaders for CW re-enacting but Taylor 56-50
could easily be favorite. Have`nt fired yet due to OMIGOD! price of ammo. Would
appreciate advice on bullet mold, brass. and especially making blanks.
Thanks, Walta44

I think I've found a new home!  1865 rifle on it's second breech block, I'm getting really good at fitting these things.  I've just about wore Marcot's book out.  Just wish we had Civil War shoots out here in Idaho, I'd love to do Wilder's Lightning Brigade.  Everyone agrees the Spencer is a real fun gun.  Gotta nail a deer with mine sometime.
