had to play last night

hey guys had to play a bit last night had some cherry cool aide and thought what the hell i mixed up a strong glass of it and threw a pieceof scrap that i tooled on and let it soak for an hour or so and heres a pic of what it came out like thinkin bout tryin to put a dark antiqueing on it but not sure how ro go about it yet but who knows LOL

thank you for the kind words its taken me year to get my pear shading down and several of them were just sitting watching my saddle maker friend (God rest his soul) just sittin there and watching taught me alot and that was back when i wasnt even old enough to cross the street by myself LOL
ive got that piece oiled up now and will get a finish on it tonight

I learned the same way you did. I spent many a hour after school watching Charlie Beals of Veach Saddle Co. in Tulsa build saddles. He was one fine craftsman/artist. That was 40+ years ago.
He was also a fine fella. Heck, he put up with me asking about a thousand questions.

ok guys here it is to coats of feibings neatsfoot oil and 2 coats of feibings tan coat
it lightened up around the edges and leaving the inner part a dark reddish color i thinks
its a good look but only know when i do a wallet or cell case

got a grape sample frogahyde oiled up now will put a finish coat on in the morning

thanks guys for the kind words i get kinda bored sitting round here so i try different things mailny play some things work and u guys see them others go right to the trash LOL
