This is my first carved holster. Holster is lined and a crossdraw for my wife. I gave her the Pietta 1862 with Kirst Conversion at Christmas. I campaigned it a while and then gave it to her. Put faux Ivory grips on it. 38 LC. The holster is completely my design from the ground up. I have been promising to make her a holster for a while now, so I finally just did it. I sat down with her and asked her about carved or tooled. She said she wanted a cross carved on it, but I though I'd add a flower or two and a couple of hearts as well as a broad leaf. All freehand on my part. Holster is finished with EVOO only and two coats of Neutral polish. Now I need to make a belt for her. Have a Civil War Texas buckle I'm going to surprise her with. Texas ga you know!

Very nice job on your first holster.

Got a few flaws here and there, but the wife loves it -- and that is what counts the most. Not my first holster, but my first carved holster, and my first from scratch, "made my own pattern" endeavor.

You did a fine job, PC. The design accents the holster nicely. Good choice of color, too. That sets the carving off. Thanks for the pics.

Howdy Preacher,

Beautiful job on your wife's Holster. I'm sure she is very proud to wear it. Please show us the belt when it is finished. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I love the design, Clint. It's good that your wife likes it. That makes the work all the sweeter.

Good job there. Making stuff for the wife always pays out. I'm making my wife a purse right now and just made her a coffee mug with a leather carved band (Tandy kit). It makes it much easier to buy stuff for leather work if she benefits from it.
