WHat kind of file do you use to file down a front site if its a bit high?

I'm gonna be honest with you, if you have to ask, then ask yourself if you have the skills with a file do do the job right.  You not only want to remove enough metal and not too much, but everything has to be straight and even.

The amount needed to be removed will also dictate which file(s) you will need to use.

A smaller flat single cut file intended for metal finishing.  The one I use is about 10 inches long and a bit less than an inch wide.  How do you support the barrel firmly enough to get it square and even AND without any OOPPS!

Before you lay your hands on a file - first try different loads and bullet weights.

You may find that your weapon likes a particular combination and will shoot tight groups and to point of aim.

Thanks for the responses.  Not going to do anything yet.  Just trying to teach myself a few things.

Get some scrap, a vise, and several files of different grads, with handles and a file card.  Also get a good caliper and practice.
r. Mach made us do that back in HS shop in the 70's, one of the best things I learned in HS along with how to sharpen drill bits.
