Hello!

I'm considering buying my first USFA, and I'd like to go for the Henry Nettleton. I noticed on the website that the patent markings have been scrubbed from the photo, and I'm wondering if anyone can offer a suggestion as to why this may be. Were the original Nettleton-inspected pistols missing the patent markings?

Thanks!

That is a good question.  My 2005 catalog picture, the current 2009 USFA web site catalog picture, and all five of my Inspector Series guns have the patent dates.  Recent auction pictures of authentic Nettleton inspected guns show that the patent dates were there.  So your question now needs to go to Gary.

Welsh,    Just keep in mind that if you would like one of the other inspector series models besides the Henry Nettleton that I do believe you can order it.  I purchased the Ainsworth (not the Custer distressed model) after they were no longer advertized on the website.  Just call USFA to make the inquiry.  I think my Ainsworth gun is the most beautiful gun I own to date.
