Mounting of the extractor on a 56-50 Taylors Spencer (which hole?)

I am finishing a conversion to use a new Taylors extractor in my original Spencer and looking at the Taylors lower block, where the cartridge guide and extractor are held in with pins I am a bit stumped.  There are two holes where the pivot pin for the extractor can go.  Both holes seem to work they just place the extractor in a slightly different place on the carrier.  I was thinking that which hole you use might be dependent on what caliber you were using (reflecting a difference in OAL) but this is just a WAG.  Can anyone with a 56-50 Taylors look at their block and tell me which hole the extractor is mounted in?

Thanks in advance.

on 56-50 the one near the botom fertherst away from block ,i have been expermenting changing extractor so it will feed a longer bullet so far i have got it to work with oal of 1.68 , i just made another extractor and slowly grind a bit of face of extractor as i increas bullet lenth ,i think 1.68 is as far as you can go and still feed properly
