Hey Guys,
I had a request for a White dress belt. So I bought some Fiebings White dye and started messing with some scraps. Looks like crap! Any suggestions to making this look nice and smooth with even coverage? Is there a prep that needs to be done beforehand?
Thanks,
Corkscrew Tom
p.s. plan on posting some pics soon.

Check with a shoe repair shop. Most have leather spray dyes. They work allright if you ake your time. I used to get a lot of requests from Rodeo Queen contestants who need differnt color boots and belts for thier outfits.
We would just use the Spary on and let it dry.
You have to watch the white though, becauise on unbleached leather it has the tendency to turn pink.
To make a custom order belt tho, I believe that I would just order a 2 oz, side of white  leather or patent  and glue and stitch it to a base belt strip of  6 or eight  ounces depending on how thick you want the belt to be.
It will be expensive but then custom belts are.

Howdy
Try Nurses White Shoe Dye. It's the best white I've found. Most supermakets carry it.
