I guess this might be rubbing it in  , but Roop County Cowboy Shooters Associatiion has gone 16 years and only cnaceled 3 shoots cause of snow.  That came out as 189 shoots!  Makes me wonder how many pounds of powder I've gone though, not even thinkin' about the tons of lead!!!

But as ours is an outdoor range we can only be certain of running matches from March-October (Its to do with the good ole Brit weather doncha know!! )...

T`aint no fun tryin ta run a match when all yer props are blowing from one side of Hampshire to t`other

Nov-Feb is taken up with pratice sessions. one month it will be say.. rifle`n` pistolas, nother will be jest pistolas, nother scattergun, etc.

Ned says that the more we pratice the better we will become  T`aint werked fer me  yet!! But hey I`m still young (Well younger `n Ned least aways)!!

Have a good one and dont go getting to much of that smoke in your eyes makes it hard to see and them targets have a habit of moving under the cover of smoke.

We shoot outside year round and our winds can get downright nasty around 2 in the afternoon, but we do have nice high walled berms to block out the sometimes 30+ mph winds!

By the way Paladin, I've been at this for 20 years and I'm still trying to prove you can miss fast enough to win!!

PS  I like our windy days, it keeps the smoke out of my eyes!!

Shot my first match of the year today.  First one for me to shoot all BP in Frontier Cartridge.  Just had to grin when the spotters started coughin and gagin and commenting on the BOOM!

Due to weather and work I haven't been able to shoot a match since October last year.  When I wasn't working it was snowing or the club wasn't shootin.

It was a great start to the season for me.

Need to work on my shotgun rounds some, had a heck of a time on two different knockdowns.  Had to use 8 shells on 4 target string on two different stages.  Seems to be a hole in the pattern maybe.

By the way, I shot the match clean today, five stages!  My first clean match in 4 years.

Looks like my first match this year will be March 21st at KC's Corral.    After that May 2nd will be my next chance.

I was just SYPE-ing with my Young'un and littlest Grandaughter in J.O.E.  Kristian went to the Picketts Hill shoot,  Had a bad day and let Ned Pepper GB win!

Little Evadne associates me with Cowboy hats.  Her mother was reading THE ENGLISHMANS BOY and Evie called the picture of the cowboy on the cover by my name!

We in Southern Missouri, noted for capricious weather, have averaged 3 shoot/month all winter. Shot once in 26 degrees and once in 29 degrees but still shot. Little rain last weekend but still were out there.

Stage 1...Fired 2rds and first pistola  locked up!! NEVER DONE IT BEFORE!!! Cost me dearly!!
It jest went down hill rapidly from there!! My hips were reeeel painfull!! Too many things that I dont wanna bore ya with
