Piccies as promised

Here`s the piccies........
I put it back together so`s ya`ll can see it, I`d already cleaned up the frame by the time ya asked fer piccies!!

You can see what a terrible fit and state the wedge is in... `n` what a massive front sight!!



Notice that even the sight base has been dented!! The more I look at it I think it resembles a Uberti bead sight, one of you pards might know better!!

Hi Paladin, looks like you got your work cut-out there!

A bit of judicious shortening wouldn't go amiss to get rid of that humongous f/sight.

The front sight on my 51 Uberti is nothin more than a pressed pin, but its a round barrel.

     You definately got much more than 10 pounds worth out that purchase!  Good going PUK

Hey PUK, that front sight looks like the one I lost offn my CVA Hawken rifle a buncha years ago, right down to the punch ding on the side.  That was afore I knew enough to use a brass drift to make windage adjustments.

Well, I don't rightly remember where it was that I lost it.  IIRCC I was at a rendezvous somewhere here in Missouri.  Don't know how it coulda got on that pistol of yourn - all the way across the pond like it is.  Lessen it mighta been one of your countrymen that was here doing training at Ft Leonard Wood and found it layin around and decided it would make a good souvenier of the colonies.  But, that's just idle speculation from the overactive mind of a retiree. 

Bottom line is - I sold that rifle more'n ten years ago and wouldn't know what to do with the sight ifn you sent it to me.
